A Statement

Barrett Sports Writing would like to make the following (light hearted) statement,

Barrett Sports Writing's Webmaster, Ben Barrett would like to place on record that it was he who coined the word on everybody's lips, Terry Skiverton's 'Twansfer'.

The idea of a twansfer came from when Yeovil's manager took advice from his twitter followers to eventually sign former Everton striker Kieran Agard.

The word 'Twansfer' has been used by the BBC, Sky Sports and other media outlets in both print and audio form. Some have attributed the word to Skiverton himself.

However, this tweet is believed to be the basis from which this phenomenon grew.

"Brilliant... the worlds first ever Twansfer... Yeovil Town and @terryskiverton changing the face of football! haha! #ytfc"

Furthermore, this article by Seb White, this blog by Simon Woodsell and a tweet from Terry Skiverton himself backs this up.

Whilst obtaining copyright may be costly and time consuming I am happy this confirmation statement acts to serve the purpose.

Barrett SportsWriting would also like to place on record their support from numerous tweeters regarding this matter and hopes everyone can continue to help Skiverton put together a squad to rival those in League One.
